Governor Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment to Rewarding Retirees with Gratuity Payments

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to rewarding retirees who have served the state with distinction. This commitment was reiterated by the Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State, Hon. Awwal Tukur, as he received the Taskforce Committee’s report on Gratuity Payments on behalf of the Governor.

The report, presented by the committee chairman, Engr. Benson Jelani mni, revealed that a total of 1,570 retirees have received their gratuity payments. This includes 111 retired permanent secretaries, 14 High Court Judges, and other retirees from various ministries and agencies, some dating back to 2013.

Hon. Tukur praised the committee for its effective and diligent work, acknowledging their role in ensuring that these retirees are duly rewarded for their service. He assured that the government would thoroughly review the committee’s recommendations and take appropriate action.

This initiative follows the establishment of the Taskforce Committee by Governor Fintiri, along with the release of Three Billion Naira, underscoring the administration’s dedication to the welfare of its retired workforce. The government remains committed to ensuring that all retirees are compensated fairly and promptly for their years of service to Adamawa State.
